SERVICES

I work across documentary, editorial and commissioned productions, taking projects from early research and story development through filming and post-production. My approach is visually led, sensitive to contributors and grounded in a strong understanding of documentary narrative.

I can join a production for a specific stage or work across the full process as a director, self-shooting filmmaker and editor.

DIRECTION & DEVELOPMENT

I direct character-led documentary work with a particular interest in intimate human stories, unusual subcultures and the relationship between people and the natural world.

My experience includes documentary research, contributor casting, story development, scripting and creative treatment writing, as well as directing both independently and within larger production teams. I am comfortable working with sensitive subject matter and building the trust required to film personal, emotionally complex stories.

Alongside my independent films, I have developed and delivered work for broadcasters, cultural organisations, universities and international brands.

EDITING

I edit short- and feature-length documentaries, branded films, artist profiles and other narrative-led work.

As an editor, I am particularly interested in finding the emotional structure of a story: shaping extensive material into a clear narrative while retaining ambiguity, character and atmosphere. My directing background also gives me a strong understanding of performance, contributor care and the practical realities behind the footage.

I work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer, with additional experience in DaVinci Resolve and After Effects. Remote and in-person editing arrangements are available.

SELF-SHOOTING & CAMERA

I work as a self-shooting director and documentary camera operator, with experience across observational filming, interviews, landscapes, events and small-footprint productions.

My visual approach combines responsive documentary coverage with carefully composed, cinematic imagery. I am particularly comfortable working with natural light, small crews and contributors who may have limited experience in front of a camera.

I have operated across Blackmagic, Sony, Canon and Panasonic camera systems and can provide a compact shooting package or work with equipment selected for the needs of the production.
